Entering The Teaching Profession
Every Teacher,Experienced or novice has immediate consideration regarding his work, most of which have the characteristics of problems to be solved. fortunately,by the time an individual enters the teaching profession he finds within himself and inherent in his relation to the situation resources for dealing with his problems. the recognition of inadequacies, however is an intelligent step toward filling in the gaps in our training and experience and toward repairing the defects. insofar as suggestions from clinical psychology have aided us in becoming aware of the many emotional twists hidden in identification, projection, compensation, sublimation, compartmentalization and other attitudes, we understand ourselves and those with whom we work more fully. Thus self-awareness has become an inclusive resource which enables the serious student of education and the alert teacher to attack difficulties with a greater degree of energy, clarity, and poise that increased assurance gives.
